The Anti-Phospholipid Antibodies IgG & IgM test detects and measures the levels of IgG and IgM class antibodies directed against phospholipids or phospholipid-binding proteins in the blood. These autoantibodies are part of the anti-phospholipid syndrome (APS), an autoimmune disorder that increases the risk of blood clots, pregnancy complications, and other vascular problems.
Common antibodies tested include anticardiolipin antibodies and anti-beta-2 glycoprotein I antibodies.
