Why It’s Done:
This test is ordered to:
• Diagnose systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)
• Monitor disease activity and response to treatment in patients with SLE
• Differentiate SLE from other autoimmune or inflammatory conditions
• Evaluate symptoms such as joint pain, rash, kidney problems, or unexplained inflammation related to autoimmune disease
Preparation:
• No special preparation is generally needed.
• Blood is drawn from a vein, usually in the arm.
• Inform your healthcare
