    Test Preparation

    To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:

    • Before the Scan:
      Fasting: Fast for 4–6 hours before the test if contrast dye is used.
    • Clothing & Accessories:
      • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing.
      • Remove all metal objects (jewelry, eyeglasses, piercings) to avoid interference.
    • Medical History:
      • Inform your doctor if you:
      Are pregnant or suspect pregnancy.
      Have kidney disease (contrast may affect kidney function).
      Have a history of contrast dye allergies or asthma.
      Have heart conditions (as the test may temporarily increase heart rate).
    • Creatinine Test:
      • A kidney function test may be required before contrast injection.
    • During the Scan:
      Contrast Injection:
      • A contrast dye (iodine-based) is injected into a vein in your arm.
      • You may feel a warm sensation or a metallic taste in your mouth.
      Breathing Instructions:
      • You may be asked to hold your breath for a few seconds while the scan captures images.
      The procedure is quick (about 10–15 minutes) and painless.
    • After the Scan:
      Hydration: Drink plenty of water to flush out the contrast dye.
      Resume normal activities unless instructed otherwise.
      Watch for allergic reactions (rash, itching, or difficulty breathing) and inform your doctor immediately if they occur.
