Test Preparation
To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:
Fasting Requirements
• No fasting required – You can eat and drink normally before the test.
Hydration
• Drink water as usual before the scan.
Clothing & Accessories
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal parts (zippers, buttons, metal fasteners).
• Remove all metal objects (jewelry, earrings, piercings, eyeglasses, dentures) to prevent interference with the scan.
Medication Considerations
• Continue taking regular medications unless advised otherwise.
• Pain relievers, blood thinners, or muscle relaxants – No special restrictions unless instructed by your doctor.
Special Considerations
• Pregnancy Alert: Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy.
• Metal Implants or Previous Surgeries: Inform the technician if you have any neck implants, screws, or past cervical spine surgeries.
• Claustrophobia Concern: Though CT scans are not as enclosed as MRI, let your doctor know if you feel anxious in medical imaging machines.
