CT Angiography Renal + Urography (Plain)

A CT Angiography (CTA) Renal + Urography (Plain) is a non-contrast CT scan that captures detailed images of:
Renal arteries and veins (blood vessels supplying the kidneys)

Kidneys, ureters, and bladder (urinary system)
This scan helps assess:

  • Renal artery stenosis – narrowing of kidney arteries
  • Kidney stones – detecting large or calcified stones
  • Aneurysms – bulging blood vessels in the kidneys
  • Urinary tract obstructions – blockages in the kidneys or ureters
  • Congenital abnormalities – structural issues in the urinary system
  • Kidney trauma – injury-related damage to renal blood vessels or tissues

Since no contrast dye is used, the ability to detect smaller blood vessel issues or soft tissue abnormalities may be limited compared to contrast-enhanced scans. However, this scan is useful when contrast cannot be administered due to kidney disease, allergies, or other medical conditions.
