Test Preparation
To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:
Fasting Requirements
• No fasting is required for a plain CTA of the lower limb.
• You can eat and drink normally before the test.
Hydration
• Drink plenty of water before and after the scan to ensure comfort and clearer imaging.
Clothing & Accessories
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal components (zippers, buttons).
• Remove any metal objects (jewelry, watches, belts, piercings) as they can interfere with the scan.
Medication Considerations
• Continue taking regular medications unless instructed otherwise.
• Blood thinners (Aspirin, Warfarin, Clopidogrel, etc.) – No need to stop unless advised by a doctor.
• Diabetic medications (Metformin, Insulin, etc.) – No special restrictions.
Special Considerations
• Pregnancy Alert: If you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy, inform your doctor.
• Claustrophobia or Anxiety: If you have concerns about staying still during the scan, inform your doctor for possible sedation options.
• Implants & Medical Devices: Let the technician know if you have any metal implants, pacemakers, or vascular stents.
