Test Preparation
To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:
Fasting:
Avoid eating for 4–6 hours before the scan, especially if IV contrast is required.
Drinking clear fluids (water) is usually allowed unless instructed otherwise.
Hydration:
Drink plenty of water before and after the scan to help flush out the contrast dye from your body.
Allergy Precautions:
Inform your doctor if you have allergies to iodine-based contrast dye or shellfish.
Anti-allergy medication may be given if necessary.
Medical Considerations:
If you have kidney disease, diabetes, or thyroid disorders, notify your doctor, as contrast dye may affect kidney function.
If taking metformin (for diabetes), you may need to pause it before and after the scan.
Pregnancy Precautions:
If you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy, notify your doctor due to radiation exposure.
Clothing & Accessories:
Wear loose-fitting clothing and remove metal objects (jewelry, piercings, dentures, hearing aids) to prevent interference with imaging
