Description
Why It’s Done:
This test is ordered to:
• Diagnose Goodpasture’s syndrome or anti-GBM disease
• Evaluate patients with symptoms like rapid kidney failure, blood in urine, or lung bleeding
• Differentiate anti-GBM disease from other causes of glomerulonephritis and pulmonary symptoms
• Monitor disease activity or response to treatment in diagnosed patients
Preparation:
• No special preparation is required.
• Blood is drawn from a vein, usually from the arm.
• Inform your healthcare provider about any medications or health conditions.
• Fasting is not necessary.
