Alpha-1-Antitrypsin – Serum

1,200.00

The Alpha-1-Antitrypsin (AAT) Serum test measures the level of alpha-1-antitrypsin protein in the blood. AAT is a protein produced by the liver that helps protect the lungs from damage caused by enzymes released by inflammatory cells.
Low levels of AAT or abnormal AAT variants can lead to Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AATD), a genetic disorder that increases the risk of lung diseases such as emphysema and liver disease.
