This is a diagnostic imaging test that captures two different views of the skull:

• AP View (Anteroposterior): Front-to-back image
• LAT View (Lateral): Side view image

Together, these views provide a comprehensive assessment of the skull bones and surrounding structures.

    Description

    Test Preparation

    No Fasting Required:
    o You can eat and drink normally before the test.
    Clothing:
    o Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You may be asked to change into a gown.
    o Remove all jewelry, eyeglasses, hair clips, hearing aids, or any metal objects from the head, face, and neck area.
     Inform the Radiologist If:
    o You are pregnant or might be pregnant, as a precaution due to radiation exposure.
    o You have any implants, medical devices, or prior head surgeries.
    During the Procedure:
    o You’ll be positioned for two separate X-rays: one from the front (AP) and one from the side (LAT).
    o You must stay still during the exposure to avoid blurry images.
    o A lead apron may be used to protect other parts of the body.
