Test Preparation
Before the Test:
• Medical history: Inform your doctor if you have any allergies to iodine or contrast dye.
• Medications: Generally, no need to stop medications unless instructed otherwise.
• Fasting: Usually no fasting required, but some facilities may ask for 1-2 hours without food or drink — confirm with your radiology center.
• Oral hygiene: You may be asked to brush your teeth before the test to reduce oral bacteria.
Inform the radiologist if:
• You are pregnant or think you may be
• You have a history of contrast dye allergy
• You have active infection or swelling in the mouth
