    Test Preparation

This is a non-invasive and quick procedure that requires minimal preparation.

    General Preparation:
    • No fasting or changes in medication are necessary.
    • Wear loose, comfortable clothing (shorts are ideal), or you may be asked to wear a gown.
    • Remove any metal objects (bracelets, knee braces, zippers, etc.) near the knee area.
    • Inform the radiographer if you are pregnant or think you might be.

On the Day of the Test:
    • You will be asked to either stand or lie down with your right leg extended straight.
    • The technician will position your leg to ensure an accurate AP view.
    • You must stay still during the X-ray to avoid blurry images.
    • The process is painless and takes about 5–10 minutes.
