Description
Test Preparation
This procedure is quick, safe, and non-invasive, with minimal preparation needed.
General Preparation:
• No fasting or changes to medications are typically needed.
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the knee area—shorts or garments that can be rolled up are ideal.
• You may be asked to remove any metal objects near the knee (braces, jewelry, or zippers).
• Inform the radiographer if you are pregnant or might be.
On the Day of the Test:
• You’ll be asked to either lie down or stand depending on the equipment and the required view.
• Your right leg will be positioned straight with the knee facing up for the AP view.
• You must stay still during the X-ray to ensure a clear image.
• The entire process is painless and typically takes only 5 to 10 minutes
