X-Ray RGU + MCU is a combined contrast X-ray study of the urethra and urinary bladder used to evaluate the lower urinary tract. It involves two procedures:

RGU (Retrograde Urethrogram):
Visualizes the anterior urethra (from the external opening to the membranous part). A contrast dye is introduced retrograde (against urine flow) to detect:
• Urethral strictures (narrowing)
• Trauma or injuries
• Fistulas
• Congenital abnormalities

MCU (Micturating Cystourethrogram):
Visualizes the bladder and posterior urethra during urination. It checks for:
• Vesicoureteral reflux (backflow of urine into ureters/kidneys)
• Bladder outlet obstruction
• Posterior urethral valves (in children)
• Neurogenic bladder dysfunction

Description
