X-RAY Abdomen Erect View

300.00

An X-Ray of the Abdomen (Erect View) is a diagnostic imaging test taken while the patient is standing upright.

This view is specifically useful for detecting:

  •  Abnormal gas patterns in the intestines
  •  Bowel obstruction or perforation
  •  Free air under the diaphragm (pneumoperitoneum), indicating a perforated organ
  •  Fluid levels in the abdomen (ascites)
  •  Kidney stones or gallstones
  •  Foreign objects in the digestive tract

This test is often performed along with a supine (lying down) abdominal X-ray to compare the findings.

Test Preparation

To ensure accurate results, follow these preparation guideline:

 Fasting Requirement
• No fasting is required, but in some cases, doctors may ask you to avoid eating or drinking for 4-6 hours before the test for better image clarity.
Bowel Preparation (If Advised by Doctor)
• Some patients may need a laxative or enema before the test to clear gas and stool, which can obstruct the view.
• Avoid gas-producing foods (beans, dairy, carbonated drinks) the night before the test.
 Clothing & Accessories
• Wear loose, comfortable clothing without metal zippers, buttons, or belts.
• Remove jewelry, piercings, and any metal objects before the scan.
 Medical Conditions & Pregnancy
• Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or suspect pregnancy, as X-rays involve radiation exposure.
• If needed, a lead apron will be provided for radiation protection.
Motion & Positioning Instructions
• You will be asked to stand upright against an X-ray board.
• Stay still and hold your breath for a few seconds to prevent blurry images
